Firewood Tips

When you stack firewood, stack it in a crisscross fashion and place it where the sun can get to it and wind can blow through it
Hardwoods such as maple, oak, ash, birch, and most fruit trees are the best burning woods
Firewood can be stored for approximately four years
Don’t burn wood in your fireplace that is rotted
Check the ends of your logs. If they are dark in color and cracked, they are seasoned. When you hit them together, that hollow sound means they are good to burn!
Wood should be protected from wet weather. Store under an overhang shed or use a piece of tarp.
